Obi Wan

Yesterday after breakfast Sam wanted to cuddle on the couch in the living room. He has seemed so forlorn lately that I snagged this opportunity to spend some time with him and talk.
Here is how the conversation went:

Me: "Sam, you seem so sad lately. Is there anything you'd like to talk about?"

Sam: "Um, well, I guess I can tell you. Mom, do you believe in Star Wars?"

Me: "Well, I believe that it is a story someone created and the movies are based on the story, why?"

Sam: "Aw, I shouldn't tell you if you don't believe. You wouldn't understand or believe me."

Me: "Why don't you give me a chance. Tell me."

Sam: "Ok, so I am Obi Wan Kenobi. For real. I am not lying."

Me: " So what you are telling me is that I gave birth to Obi Wan Kenobi?"

Sam: "Yes! And I have the force. I can move things with the force. I dropped my light saber at Ruby's house and held my hand out to move it with the force and it moved!!"

Me: "Wow!"

Sam: "Yeah. Make a fist Mom. Like this. (makes fist) Squeeze tight."

Me: "Ok." (making a fist and squeezing tight)

Sam: "Can you feel that?" (meaning the sensation you get when squeezing your fist very tight)

Me: "Yes. I can feel that."

Sam: "That is it. That is the force. You have the force too Mom!"

Me: "Awesome."

He's been so happy ever since this conversation. The truth is out. Obi Wan Kenobi is my son.

I absolutely love it! You have one great thinker! My husband would be jealous if he knew you gave birth to a Jedi, I am not that cool. ;)

Precious. This is wonderful. So glad you were able to bring him out of his funk and put his conscience to rest.
